NCBA bank with subsidiaries in Rwanda, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Uganda and Tanzania may require a highly experienced IT team to help the bank fix loopholes in its technology systems and department.

NCBA's technical hiccup arose from planned shift into a uniform platform for all its customers in Kenya and the region following the merger of the former NIC Group and CBA Group. The upgrade involved bringing all the customers to one platform on the core banking system where the customer data lies and all calculations are done.

Recently the bank suffered a major cyber-attack after Mr Antony Mwangi Ngige, 23, and Ms Ann Wambui Nyoike, 21, two second-year students at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology were accused and charged with stealing Sh25 million from the bank through hacking. They are also said to have attempted to defraud the lender an additional Sh190.7 million.

The bank said on Tuesday that it wants to hire an IT director following technical changes in migrating the bank's systems and a hacking.

'Key responsibilities include use of domain knowledge and experience to define sufficient resilience for network, hardware, applications together with the accompanying disaster recovery plans,' NCBA said in the advertisement.

NCBA Bank Kenya, whose full name is NCBA Bank Kenya Plc, is a commercial bank in Kenya founded on September 29, 1959. It is licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya, the country's central bank and national banking regulator.

Law enforcement agencies in the New York city, US have arrested Toronto Raptors rookie Terence Davis on charges of assaulting a woman and criminal mischief, police said.

Davis while at a luxury high-rise in midtown Manhattan, allegedly assaulted a 20-year-old woman in the face, hurting her eye, and grabbed her phone and broke its screen, Detective Sophia Mason said in a statement.

The incident occurred Tuesday night. The woman told police she went to visit her boyfriend and the two got into a verbal dispute, a police spokeswoman said.

The Raptors said they were aware of reports about the incident and were gathering more information. Davis, a 23-year-old guard, played college basketball at Mississippi before joining the Raptors as an undrafted free agent before the start of the 2019-20 season. He averaged 7.5 points per game and was named to the league's All-Rookie Second Team.

Nyirampfakaramye Virijiniya aged 66 was found dead with deep wound and knife by the side of her lifeless body according to eye witness accounts.

The incidence took place at Gatovu village in Sheri cell, Rugalika sector in Kamonyi district. Details are still scanty as security agencies conduct investigations into this gruesome murder. Her body was discovered by passers by on Wednesday night at a spot near the deceased's home.

Umugiraneza Martha the Executive Secretary at Rugalika sector confirmed this sad incidence and said it was not yet clear who could have been behind this murder. The body of the deceased has been taken to hospital for a post-mortem as investigations continue.

However, area residents suspect that Nyirampfakaramye death could be linked to family disputes and that previously there was an attempt on her life.
