Going by the bible teachings, the situation today mirrors what is described as the end of times. But today let's take a look at who a Prophet is. A prophet is one who receives and then offers the Word of God.

However, a false prophet is one who receives a word by other means, such as divination, fortune-telling, or sorcery, whether a word from their own minds or from other, false gods. These corrupt, dishonest messages are not of God and therefore cannot be trusted.

Rwandans being a highly Christian society, it can be evidenced by the growth and influence of Christianity in the daily lives. The biggest demands made to relax the Covid-19 measures came from Christians; they badly wanted churches to re-open. Many people across the country were arrested for renegading on the measures.

The search for God and growth in faith has attracted too many fraudsters in the name of pastors some of whom claim to prophesy. Many Rwandans seemingly get attracted to churches where prophesy is a major ingredient- but how can one tell that the prophesies are not fraudulent?

Sometimes, people pose as true prophets to mislead, such as in Nehemiah 6:10-15, when a false prophet attempted to convince Nehemiah to hide in the temple, but Nehemiah realized it was a trap. Other times, false prophets offered signs and wonders as a way to entice people to follow other gods instead of the Lord (Deuteronomy 13:1-3).

God speaks harshly against false prophets, occult practices, and other means of sorcery. God describes a false prophet as one who 'presumes to speak in My name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods' (Deuteronomy 18:20). In Jeremiah 14:14, God says these evildoers prophesy lies, offering 'false visions, divinations, idolatries, and the delusions of their own minds.'

In Deuteronomy 18:9-20, God warns His people not to engage in divination, cast spells, or consult mediums, nor listen to anyone who speaks in the name of other gods. These false prophets should be put to death, He says.

God expresses His displeasure even more fiercely in Jeremiah — both about the false prophets and those who listen to them.

'Therefore this is what the Lord says about the prophets who are prophesying in My name: I did not send them, yet they are saying, 'No sword or famine will touch this land.' Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine. And the people they are prophesying to will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them, their wives, their sons and their daughters. I will pour out on them the calamity they deserve' (Jeremiah 14:15-16).

God notes in Jeremiah 23:30-32 that He is 'against' false prophets, and in Zechariah 13:3 says they must be stabbed to death by their own parents.

The Khoisan indigenous people — South Africa's first inhabitants have camped outside the Seat of government demanding the official recognition of their languages and to negotiate land ownership.

For the past two years, these Khoisans have been camped outside this facility and are likely not to leave until their demands are met. Union Buildings is an imposing 110-year-old structure that has housed colonial, apartheid and democratic leaders including Mandela and now President Cyril Ramaphosa.

'We will wait here until we have what we came for,' said one protestor describing himself King Khoisan South Africa.

They also want the word 'coloured' — the mixed-race tag they have been carrying since apartheid and which is still largely used in official documents — to be abolished.

Ramaphosa last year signed into law the Traditional and Khoi-San Leadership Act, which grants more autonomy to the Khoisan community. But some of the Khoisan remain unsatisfied, and see the law as the starting point for a constitutional and cultural struggle.

The Khoisan have been referred to in the past as 'Bushmen' — and when the Dutch settlers landed in South Africa in the 17th century, they called them Hottentots, a word derived from the famous clicks in their languages.

In one of the grimmest episodes of colonial times, a Khoisan named Sarah Baartman was taken to Europe in the early 19th century by a British doctor and paraded as an anatomical freak — the 'Hottentot Venus,' who people could see and touch for a fee.

Abused and sick, she died in poverty, and her remains were displayed in a Paris museum. They were returned to South Africa in 2002 and buried with honour in the Eastern Cape. Her tale is described in 'Black Venus,' a 2010 French film directed by Abdellatif Kechiche.

Panic and fear have engulfed the residents of Lubumbashi City in the Democratic Republic of Congo as fierce fighting between government forces and Mai Mai rebels enter the second day since Friday.

Reports from ground indicate the rebels have infiltrated into Lubumbashi the capital of the province of Haut-Katanga making it very difficult for the government forces to distinguish civilians from the rebels who are all in civilian clothes.

According to witnesses, the militiamen of Bakata Katanga tried to enter the city center through the Bel-Air and Gambela 1 double pole districts. One of the rebels was shot dead by heavily armed Police.  The body of the rebel was left lifeless on the street. Some police officers were seen kicking and beating the dead rebel.

Ghislain Lubaba Buluma, mayor of the city of Lubumbashi has confirmed this incursion and promised to give the results in the coming hours because they are still gathering information.

'Yes, I confirm that there is an incursion, but our services are still in the process of making the cross-checking,' he said.

On the spot, bullets rang out until 7 am. Shops, boutiques and other trading houses are closed apart from a timid circulation of the population. Heavily armed men in uniform are visible in strategic places in the city.

According to several sources, it was Mai-Mai Bakata Katanga who made an incursion into the city. These militiamen are accompanied by children.

Another source in Lubumbashi said the Mai-Mai could have attacked the city with the aim of securing their colleagues currently in prison. Previously, high tension was observed on Friday, September 25 at Kasapa central prison. The detainees set fire to several cells but also the administrative office of this prison house.

The police intervened and for the moment the results of these incidents at Kasapa central prison are unknown.
