President Felix Tshisekedi is expected to Jet in to the Eastern region capital Goma earlier in preparation for the much anticipated Summit involving Rwanda, Uganda Burundi and the host DRC.

A source from the Congolese Presidency confirmed to Actualite a local online newspaper saying, 'Tshisekedi will travel to Goma in the province of North Kivu on Tuesday, September 22.'

According to this source, President Tshisekedi will be able to stay in Goma until Friday and will participate by video conference in the mini-summit of heads of state of the Great Lakes region.

Meanwhile, on Sunday the Presidential plane carrying presidency staff suffered a technical glitch few minutes after takeoff. According to initial reports, the plane was able to land on the runway at N'djili airport and all passengers are safe and sound. The impact with the ground has not been fully mastered, but the situation is under control, a source said.

The entourage was traveling to the capital of North Kivu as part of the arrival of Félix Tshisekedi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marie Ntumba Nzeza in a press release on Thursday announced that this Mini-summit will be held by videoconference.

Meanwhile,this mini-summit aims in particular to ease tensions between Uganda and Rwanda, on the one hand, and between Burundi and Rwanda on the other.

Since last year in March, Rwanda closed its borders with Uganda following arbitrary arrests, torture and detention without trial of Rwandans. Some would later be dumped at the border very sick, bearing wounds and broken limbs.

Uganda claims that most of these Rwandans are involved in espionage, interference and destabilization. During this mini-summit, the issue will be discussed. Both Rwandans and Ugandans are highly anticipating the opening of borders.

According to the Congolese Presidency, this Mini-summit will also explore matters of security, the economy, trade and covid-19 pandemic.

Also this mini-summit could evoke the Addis Ababa framework agreement. Agreement signed on February 24, 2013 with a view to stabilizing in particular the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sam Bennett launched his sprint early and briefly looked like he might be overhauled by the hard-chasing riders. He trounced them all and crossed the finishing line. He is the champion of Tour de France 2020 edition.

'I can't tell you how I feel, standing here as a winner with the green jersey on the Champs-Elysées. This is the world championship of the sprinters. He added that the suffering in the mountains was worth it. 'It took me so long to get here, I'm going to enjoy every moment of this victory. It was a really fast and technical finale. I've been nervous when we went back to the front. Then the boys destroyed the race, they were first after the tunnel and I thought it was too early. Trek came but we had each side covered. There was a bit of a head wind, we let them go first, then I opened up. Stuyven came to the front for Pedersen. I thought somebody would pass me. I can't believe I've won it.'

Bennett beat world champion Mads Pedersen in a sprint finish to take his second stage win of the Tour, having already wrapped up the points classification at the intermediate sprint of the 122km stage from Mantes-la-Jolie. It made Bennett the first Irishman to win a major jersey at one of the three Grand Tours since Sean Kelly won green at the Tour for the fourth and final time in 1989.

Peter Sagan took third place ahead of Alexander Kristoff and Elia Viviani. Green was the only classification left to be determined after Pogacar's incredible ride in Saturday's time trial on La Planche des Belles Filles saw the Slovenian secure the yellow jersey as well as the King of the Mountains' polka dots and the best young rider's white on his Tour debut.

Tadej Pogacar is the champion of the 2020 edition of Tour de France. He is the first Slovenian to claim title of this prestigious race.

'This is incredible,' said Pogacar on Sunday after crossing the finish line. 'Standing here on the first step of the podium on the Champs Elysées … I never thought I would do it. 'It was an incredible three weeks. I want to thank the hard work the tam put in, my family and everyone who supported me.'

Another Slovenian Primoz Roglic, who for two weeks wore the leader's vest until a meltdown on the penultimate stage, was second and the 35-year-old Australian Richie Porte came third.

It is Pogacar's 22nd birthday tomorrow, and he's asked if this is the best possible birthday present. 'I'm not really a fan of my birthdays,' he says, which makes them the only thing he isn't extremely enthusiastic about at the moment.
